
Yoga


I have practiced yoga for over 30 years and completed my 200 hour yoga teacher training course with Bodsphere, a wonderful school in India. I am registered with the Yoga Alliance. I am now completing my 300 hour yoga teacher training course with the House of Om, based in Bali.
I have facilitated yoga in adult commiunity and school wellness programs for many years and I practice a range of yoga styles including Hatha, Ashtanga, Yin and Vinyasa flow. As part of my training, I also have knowledge of pranayama, meditation and chanting and Ayurveda.
As well as learning the asanas (poses), all sessions end with meditation.

EXPLANATIONS OF OUR DIFFERENT SESSIONS

Yoga video subscription will be launched after I have built up a library of sessions. Each month, links for 10 videos and 5 meditations will be emailed out to you.

Multiple sessions and monthly subscription - ways to do more yoga at a reduced price. If you still feel the price is too expensive then contact me to find out if there are group options available in your area.

1-2-1 online requires a zoom or teams account. You will get a meeting invite at an agreed time and then I take you through a bespoke yoga program. I will show you positions which you do with me then I will be able to advise you on your form and provide you with feedback on areas of improvements. I can also advise you on specific areas that should be worked on in future sessions.

Face to face on the other hand is when I come to your house and after I have shown you the asana (position), I can check your alignment and move you gently into the correct alignment or extend your stretch further if I feel you are able to.

Yoga with props
If you are new to yoga or returning after injury, you may find it is hard to get into some positions. On a home visit, I can provide you with a range of blocks, belts and bolsters to use to ensure that you are in the correct alignment. It is more important to stretch your body correctly than force a tight area. Props allow correct technique to be adhered to.

Online or corporate sessions will discuss the use of props should someone have their own.

A Typical session
Sessions will either create a tiered approach where you first learn level 1 asanas, sun salutation C and then as you progress, new positions are introduced. If you opt for a monthly group session subscription then the yoga sessions will be a mix of level 1 to 3 asanas.

1 hour session: Basic stretching, asana work - depends on focus to how many asanas, pranayama, meditation

Plans available: We offer weekly, monthly and long term plans which can also incorporate any of our other services.

Yoga styles
I have an extensive knowledge of Hatha, Iyengar, Ashtanga and Yin Yoga so sessions can either focus on one style or incorporate a range. Corporate and group sessions tend to include asanas from a range of styles. Sessions may focus on specific anatomical areas such as hip openers or back strengtheners or can focus on stress relief, yoga for runners or even yoga nidra - to aid sleep.
